Capability Scotland: Choice magazine
How Capability Scotland delivers choice to its audiences
Capability Scotland needed to update its communication channels which were not meeting its needs in reaching a diverse audiences of stakeholders, influencers, staff and clients. As Scotland’s leading disability organisation providing support for disabled people and their carers as well as influencing legislation, Capability needed one method of providing accessible communication that would reach everyone.
We created Choice – an engaging and informative magazine that followed best practice in terms of accessibility guidelines for type size and imagery. We made it inclusive for its diverse readership and reflected the organisation’s mission to deliver equality, choice and control to disabled children and adults throughout Scotland.
Choice has been a huge success for Capability Scotland and research shows it to be the organisation’s most effective and popular means of communication. Choice was awarded Best Stakeholder Communication at the 2009 CiB Scotland Awards and repeated the success winning the same category again at the 2010 IoIC Awards.
